Orionid meteor shower

21/10/2018 @ 7:00 pm – 22/10/2018 @ 5:30 am Europe/London Timezone

Some activity from the shower is visible from 2 October to 7 November. The peak of the shower this year is the evening of the 21st into the morning of the 22nd. Peak rates are around 20-25 per hour, but that would be from a dark sky site.

To view the shower you should try to get away from light sources. The meteors will originate from the constellation of Orion but you should lie back and take in a much of the sky as possible, you could see them in any part of the sky.

The image shows the radiant at 23:55 on the 21st
